My pleasure! I'll go so far as to say that the Pro iCAN sounds awesome with just about any headphone I throw at it, but it has a particular affinity with ZMF IMO.

I've seen some feedback about this in the past, so now I look forward to trade shows again where I'll have my eye on ZMFs. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long

We're all looking forward to that I think! Definitely check out ZMF if you can, I doubt you'd be disappointed. I wouldn't speak for him, but @zach915m might even be open to a loaner if you ask nicely...

Easy prediction: you will flat-out LOVE your new blackwood Aeolus.

How do I know? Because I flat-out LOVE my blackwood Aeolus. In fact, job #1 in tonight's listening session will be to use that b'wood Aeolus on 2 amps:

• The xDuoo TA-20 I purchased very gently used and have burned in ~120 hrs (it has sounded awfully good, way more than the inexpensive price would predict, on the VO); and
• My Woo WA3 OTL w/NOS Tung Sol 5998 swapped in (and burned-in ~50 hrs) in place of stock 6080 (again, this amp & the VO have a real thing going, which is a hopeful portent for the Aeolus)

I can't get over how incredibly good these 2 open-back ZMF dynamics sound, in their respective (& somewhat different) ways.

The mids of the Aeolus are sublime with the Universe suede pads. To my ears, they are like just under the edge of coming off as forward as the mids of the HD6XX.

I agree. I prize the quality of the mids on my HD 600. So the Aeolus would be long gone if it underdelivered in this department. It doesn't. It's really good.
