ZEN by DUNU: our first model designed around next-generation driver platform ECLIPSƎ

It took me a while but I've finished writing the Dunu Zen review, and I must say I am very impressed with it. If you can get the ideal fit, Dunu Zen will deliver one of the most dynamic, rich sound out of a single-dynamic setup under $1000. It boasts a tactility of notes across the spectrum that’s very difficult to come by in its price range, esp in all-BA and hybrid setups.

It’s not without its drawbacks though and that upper-mid peak can be quite contentious, along with the lack of upper-treble air (though this isn’t as big a deal for me, your mileage may vary). For the majority of the tracks I listen to, though, the Dunu Zen has been absolutely fantastic. Moreover, it gives you much of the Dunu Luna’s technical prowess at $1000 less. Its dynamics are hard to beat, and if you are someone who values the coherency and presentation of a single dynamic-driver the Dunu Zen is something you must try.

I have settled in with using the Flip-tips mod with the ZEN. The ZEN has never sounded better. Amazing soundstage. They are now placed way outside the ear. Not in-ear anymore, but on-ear.
Laughably, they are maybe 1 inch farther out?

The setup I’m using right now, I only need 13/100 on lowest gain setting with DUNU Zen on the Shanling M8. Getting perfect black background. Loving this combo.

I’ve settled on Final E tips as I find them the most comfortable, I don’t notice these in my ears!

It seems like it’ll be announced at the Beijing International Headphones Exhibition that takes place today(well last night technically lol) and tomorrow alongside the Falcon Pro, and the Titan S.

We'll release more information some time in the near future. The short story is that, while it'll be offered in a titanium grey finish, it's not just a cosmetic change. ZEN is an important product line for us, as it allowed us to define the ECLIPSƎ platform. ECLIPSƎ now makes its way into the (much) more affordable FALCON PRO, but we continue to evolve ZEN. ZEN PRO is a manifestation of that continual evolution.

Can you share Titan S specs and if there's going to be Apple Lightning adaptor for Dunu cables going to launch along those IEMs?

No specifications to announce yet. The TITAN S is still being fine tuned, so specifications may change. FALCON PRO is pretty close to final though. The Lightning modular plug project is slotted behind these current projects, so let us get through the other ones first.

ZEN led me to a fantastic IEM journey over the last few months with the Sennheiser IE900 my most recent. I really hope there is enough of a change with Pro to tempt me to upgrade! Titanium grey certainly a great start.
