Your 5 newest CDs (or LPs)
May 9, 2013 at 9:25 PM Post #5,746 of 6,671
The latest for me are:

Tycho- Dive (don't really like it, but someone recommended it to me)

David Gilmour- On an Island

Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine Remastered (been listening to this one a lot lately)

Gary Numan- The Pleasure Principle (also good)

Rob Dougan- Furious Angels (awesome)

If that's the CD remaster of PHM it's terrible. I'd hunt down and original CD asap. They're not expensive or hard to find.

If we're talking remastered vinyl, carry on. :)

I own the original CD from TVT records as well. I like being able to hear Trent's voice, he really had it turned down in the original mix. I admit the compression is shot and it is louder than the original. But it also sounds more clear to me, meh maybe it's subjective. Also compared to most other albums put out these days the dynamic range is reasonable.

It's half as dynamic as the original disc. I agree a bit that the new mix isn't terrible, but the compression is. It's in line with most of the 'slightly less than worst Pop' records right now. It's no 4db, but 6-7 isn't even close to good enough for a masterpiece like PHM.

I dun no. I still just think the original obliterates the newer one. Can't fault it for being bad though no matter which it is. :) You are in fact the first person I've heard prefers the new CD though.

I'll take either LP over either CD though. :D

Phew! I think that's it...

These came today. Sorry for the somewhat crappy pictures; the camera I typically use isn't at home right now so I had to use my phone. The Sheena Ringo album I ordered based on metalsonata recommending it on the Your Album of the Month thread. I haven't heard it yet, nor am I sure when I'll have the time to listen to it, so I don't know if it was a good purchase or not but I certainly hope the former.

ATOLS - ATOLS/MIKU

DJ OKAWARI - Kaleidoscope

椎名林檎 (Sheena Ringo) - 加爾基 精液 栗ノ花 (Kalk Samen Kuri no Hana)
