At one point in time the original 1992 release was selling for an insane price in the used market. I never saw it for sale for less than $100 and upward to $400 in some places. The box set was re-released in 1999, but was in sold in different packaging.  The '92 release was a much sought after "holy grail" of the Bob Marley collections, which included great photos and liner notes.  My then girlfriend got it for me when it first came out, but I sold it a few years later after we broke up and I was hard up for cash.  I regretted that decision ever since.  I did pick up the '99 re-issue, but it was just not the same.  Needless to say I was happier than a tornado in a trailer park when I scored a copy on ebay for an awesome price.  The best part?  All four discs were mint, as if they've never even been touched!

Some of latest music buys are vintage CDs from Japan.  I think each of the 2 CDs below are over 25 years old....

Then there's this CD....the first digitally-recorded classical CD ever released to the public....the CD is about 28 years old.  The jewel case, on the back, actually has "Patent pending" molded into the plastic....
