Head-Fi is truly a great place. In the course of a very enjoyable PM exchange with another member, it was suggested that I try New Ancient Strings by Kora masters Ballake Sissoko and Toumani Diabate. I am vaguely familiar with the instrument, though perhaps not very much the music.

I have some world music in my library, though it is just a tiny fraction of my collection. So I decided to make some additions. I ordered the CD above, and also added the following:

Toumani Diabate - Kaira
Anouar Brahem - Barzakh
Anouar Brahem - Le Pas Du Chat Noir
Ghazal - The Rain
Ghazal - Lost Songs of the Silk Road
Kayhan Kalhor - The Wind
Buena Vista Social Club at Carnegie Hall

I think it's time I paid more attention to this music.

Just one this week, but it was a box set. I'm trying to slow down, since school is starting and work is stopping. Perhaps I'll put more of an emphasis in used vinyl to increase the quantity of what I can get for my money.

Miles Davis - The Complete In A Silent Way Sessions [3 CD Box]
