A thrift store visit this morning yielded, ahem . . .

A mint original Bach Guild pressing of Szigeti's Sonatas and Partitas for $0.99. This is worth some serious bucks so I may resell it. I'm more of a Milstein man.

A mint set of Karajan's Brahms symonies on DGG Tulip for $1.49. This one is only worth about $30, but it'll look great next to my Karajan/Beethoven Tulip set.

Am instructional record by Jan August on how to "spice up" your popular piano playing, complete with sheet music booklet and inscribed ny Jan on the back cover. $0.49. August to me is the epitome of mid-century piano kitch. I have thrown out a number of his records over the years. I hope my piano playing is not so lousy that it is beyond spicing up.

And in yesterday's mail -- a sealed copy of "Little Joe Sings." Little Joe was Joe Pesci when he was a little known nightclub act in the early 70s before he broke in to movies. At $4 I may have overpaid but it's a cool item.

Hooray for records.
