Because of Tower's buy 4 get a 5th free, I picked up these Friday:

- John Coltrane, Live at the Village Vanguard - The Master Takes
- John Coltrane, Live at the Village Vanguard Again!
- John Coltrane, Ascension
- John Coltrane, Live at Birdland
- Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan, In Session

All are great. Seems practically everything Coltrane did under the Impulse label is incredible. The last disc is a must have for SRV fans. I can't believe I didn't see it till now.

took a little trip to seattle and picked up a few CDs while I was out there...

1. Pretty Girls Make Graves - Elan Vital
2. Vast - Vast
3. Will Oldham - Joya
4. MC Frontalot - Nerdcore Rising. Picked this one up at Penny Arcade Expo from the man himself. Front was nice enough to autograph it for me. Wish I had managed to get my hands on Optimus Rhyme's stuff while they were there, but they packed up and left before I had the chance.

Procol Harum - A Salty Dog
Procol Harum - Live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blond (SACD remaster)
Jeff Buckley - Grace
Kobra Khan - something or other - some dude off the street making really, really bad indie rap in the vein of Master P and the gangbangin' ilk. Straight from the hard streets of Yorkville, Toronto.

I only have a SACD player (Denon 2200) at the office, and I like to listen to music on my computer (home or office). I can play DVD-A's on either the Denon or my computer (I use PowerDVD 7 w/ advanced audio pack). Therefore, I generally go for DVD-A rather than SACD if I have the option, unless reviews indicate the DVD-A release sucks and the SACD shines.

In this particular case, I didn't realize there was an SACD--I didn't do my homework. Is it considered a better version than the DVD-A release?
