It's a quest.

Humans are hardwired to enjoy quests.

my little story... bet sounds a lot like many of yours.

i came on this board to do some research on a set of basic headphones (senn cx3000). ended up getting a pair of e2cs instead, just purchased a set of super.fi3 from a forum member, and a set of UM2s.

what was a $50 purchase became over $300... and i still need to get a high capacity source =(.

Thank you for this post.

I think I have seen the light.

After weeks of therapy, I am ready to burn all my stereo equipment, all except for my original ipod and the earbuds it came with.
Then I can walk around and fit in and be normal. I can join the normal white-budded masses. Apple told us it used to be cool and "Think Different" with the Macintosh, instead of being a Microsoft Beige Zombie. Now I guess the only sane thing to do is wear white earbuds that produce terrible sound.

Thank you for saving me.

NOT! I scoff at your visioin of a sane world. Your post has made me vow to upgrade my equipment to the highest end I can. My brain deserves, no my brain needs it.

Then I think I will feel all better. For awhile.
