I think an audiophile is a person with a constant itch - for the ultimate sound. 
 
The ultimate sound can of course never be achieved.

You know you're an audiophile when you bring your Sennheiser HD800 and your $1000+ amp out on a place where you know its gonna be filled with people that have Beats/Bose/Skullcandy, while you have a big smug on your face, knowing that those people are missing out on a lot of sound.

Wait, I do. I have NEVER seen ANYONE wear HD800S in public. You're the first :)
