V1 and V2 are the same school. So what has changed in the sound? Contrary to appearances, this issue is not so easy to solve, because I would have to have 2 pairs of muses02 and burson v5i to make it easier. But there are changes. The most obvious - power. The son is much stronger than the father. These are no longer jokes. This translates into dynamics, especially in the lower band. Bass boost - quite a nice alternative, especially for those who appreciate bass. It can also be useful in a scenario using a smartphone as a source. I tested with LG V30 and hiby music app with a pretty good, even surprising result. Turbo option... oh my...
Factory opamps. I consider them to be the basic variant, which basically limits the possibilities of both amplifiers rather than develops them against the background of more serious opamps. It sounds equally dry and a bit bland, the more so that the better players are impatiently warming up, shuffling their numerous legs.
Double substitution and two new players on the pitch - muses02. And here we are slowly getting to the point. It's a sharp, dynamic game, fast, strong bass and detail. The vocals are positioned a bit more to the sides. Compared to V1 it's warmer and that's why I like muses02 in V2 more. And this warming is the key in V2.
V5i - first impression: they got more fuel than in V1 and developed potential, especially on the bottom. The sound is analog, the bass is more saturated than muses02. There is more air, space, freedom. There's a mood. We have vocals in the center here. It seems that the V5i in combination with the V2 sounds more universal and versatile than the bursons on board the V1. In V1, a kind of light blanket appeared here and there. In the V2, this tonal warmth is somehow better controlled. At the time of writing this text, the V2 has been accompanying me for only a dozen or so hours, and I devoted a lot of that time to opamp juggling. And it sounds cooler. The V5i have been on board long enough that I can already rate the sound as pleasant and musical. Maybe it's a different space than in v1, but I like them. I'm not entirely sure, but the dac section seems better than the V1 (with which I used the Lake People DAC RS 06 the most via aux or coaxial - there was more juice).
Update after 2,3 days:
V2 is more dynamic than V1, even with burson v5i. I can even say that it plays aggressively and with noticeable power. The bass is faster and stronger. But it's still an analog sound. There is a violectric v200 on the desk next to it. They are close to each other, the V2 is more resolving, the v200 has slightly better positioned vocals, but in my opinion the violectric is the master of the genre in this case.
Construction and functions. The front panel of the V2 is slightly thicker than that of the V1, the switches protrude less. From useless knowledge - the V2 panel fits V1 (the other way around not). Added TURBO (one stage gain) and BASS (bass boost). BT works ok, it doesn't get lost at 10 meters (I haven't tried it further). The connection may break while moving when a thick wall appears in the way, but after a while it is stable.
Added the ability to change from synchronous to asynchronous mode
MQA works.
The 4.4 plug enters with a clear resistance and a click at the end.
The function of external, independent mains power has been added
I assume that in some time there will be a new firmware, we know that it sonically affects xduoo products.
