XDuoo X3 DSD 24Bit / 192KHz CS4398 Chip Lossless Music Player

Mar 26, 2016 at 11:56 PM Post #2,643 of 5,194
as soon as i try to create a new playlist on the X3, rockbox keeps saying "//playlists doesnt exist". so i guess that the directory for playlists is not where it should be... does anyone know where in the directory strukture of rockbox the directory for the playlists should be?

I tried it last night. It saves to any file with .m3u8.

/foo/bar.m3u8

means the file inside your foo folder on the sd card, with the name bar.m3u8

It seems that one cannot add a song inside a cue sheet to a playlist though

No other card right now,i was thinking of that also,i'll try it

Try to compute a md5 for the file:

$ md5 update-to-rockbox-d312ba8M-160316.zip
MD5 (update-to-rockbox-d312ba8M-160316.zip) = 66480f02adfceca350fe9c300d91df4c

ok, thank you,so its a bug then... hopefully it will be taken care of in future versions, as the extensive playlistfuntion is one of the main advantages of rockbox... thanks for your efforts.

Issue:

My x3 would have the usb screen show up randomly so I decided to try reflashing the firmware through the original "manual" method because the newer way seemed to do nothing. The process quit itself in the middle of flashing, and now the x3 won't boot up. I've tried reset, a different cable, etc... I'm using an Win7 emulator on a Mac.

The thing didn't even give me a log. :( Anyone has any idea? @XVortex

@XVortex  Thanks anyway - does anyone know what I can do? Could I contact xDuoo for a potential replacement or does rockbox void warranty?

So Xduoo is refusing to do anything about the pitch error on the X3? I realize it is probably not easy to fix, however Sandisk managed to reduce the pitch error on the Clip+ firmware to less than 0.25%, which was a reduction of around 66%, without reducing battery life so much. They said that to completely eliminate the pitch error would have required a much greater loss of battery life. Rockbox for the Clip+ though has much lower pitch error than the repaired Sandisk firmware, yet Rockbox achieves better battery life than the Sandisk firmware.

Is Rockbox being developed for the Xduoo X3? If so, when might it be ready and stable? The Xduoo X3 seems like it might be awesome running Rockbox.

Lots of people, myself included, already are using a Rockboxx implementation by user XVortex... seems to be pretty good and stable, though XVortex himself rated it as a "95% beta", if I remember correctly:)

I'm curious. How small is the pitch error using Rockbox? My guess is that it is small, less than 0.2%

You can do a search instead of asking. It's been discussed many times. http://www.head-fi.org/t/782912/xduoo-x3-dsd-24bit-192khz-cs4398-chip-lossless-music-player/2130#post_12425443
