The inability to set datetime will be fixed in recent update.
When Mine died for a while in this process. I noticed, that I removed the card and put my music card back in, followed by the reset. I dont know if it helps you. But for me it worked. I gave up the idea of bricking mine, with win 10. will go to a friend who has 7 or xp next week.![]()

I can not sleep thinking about this problem, I got up and I again tried everything:
My xduoo was charged for one hour (but it was already 100% charged when it bricked)
Hold boutton is not enabled, the power boutton has no effect.
a reset.
reset + power button.
connected without pressing any button on another PC with W7 too, sometimes I get "unknown peripheral, can not find a driver." sometimes, I have no message.
connected to PC and pressing the power button: nothing.
(all thoses experiences with several USB cables, multiple USB ports and with two differents SD)
:
I downloaded both files again and reinstalled everything, applied strictly the manual (as I did the first time, and as Computer Graphic designer, I am very confortable with computers)
Connected to the PC by pressing the option button and then releasing it: nothing happens.
I have an "unknown usb peripheral" in my peripherals manager, but if I try to update the driver as, I have a message "no valid driver found in the directory".
I tried the procedure to restart dualboot natively or Rockbox mode. Nothing. (still black screen)
I also no longer have the "click" that I heard when starting up.
I feel completely helpless.
@Bob A (SD) - regarding exfat cards..I don't think rockbox can see them at all, but I'd love to be proven wrong. I installed rockbox (initially used a 16gb fat32 card) but cannot get it to detect my exfat card in slot 2, nor will it boot with rockbox files on an exfat card in slot 1
@fredhubbard2 - hold option down then plug the x3 into the computer, windows will detect an unknown device and look pointlessly for drivers. At this stage open up device manager, you will find an unknown device (will have something like a yellow ! icon), click on it, then click update driver => browse my computer for driver. Then select the folder where the drivers are, either 32 or 64 bit depending on whether your windows is 32 or 64 bit. This should install the drivers successfully. Start up the burn tool and it should automatically flash rockbox
None of this should be taken as a criticism of XVortex or his friends who have developed this port. He (they) have done a fantastic job thusfar. It is simply common for some bugs and issues to be noted as the user base expands on a new piece of software. I remain quite confident that in time the xDuoo X3 Rockbox port will become virtually bulletproof![]()
Yeah, have not managed to format >32gb as fat32 under windows...tried downloading a whole bunch of programs that promised to be able to do it, none of them actually did.
Best way I've managed in the past is pretty finicky - involves booting into linux from a pendrive and formatting the sd card from there...hence not really keen to repeat the experience haha.
Again, would love to be proven wrong and for someone to show me a quick easy way to do it using windows [if such a way exists]!
Totally agree to this ^ !
Haven't had much time to play around with it aside from installing it, but, @XVortex, looks good, great job!
Thanks for this! I'm running a pair of Silicon Power 128Gb Class 10 XC1 ExFAT SD Cards. I'm going to hold off trying this port until more is known. As an aside I think there may be some complications to formatting large SD cards (>32Gb) in FAT32 with Win7. Also appreciate the sanity check on the driver installation. Kinda figured it'd be with the Device Driver but in the absence of clear notes in XVortex's installation guide this was needed.

If Rockbox doesn't support a second SD card that seems to me to be a deal breaker as one of the big features of the xDuoo X3 is it's dual SD card slots.
It appears that the Ridgecrop Fat32 program is a good bet to handle the >32GB cards (reading their info here: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm ) but again if Rockbox is limited to supporting only a single SD card the format issue is a moot one.
So, as stated earlier, I'll hold off implementing this beta port until more clarity is available about some of the issues raised in the last few pages of this thread.
