Looks like I'll be looking back at this thread again and hoping the pitch issue gets a soft fix or I get a MK2 as replacement...

Penon Audio has bit their own tongue - contradicting their claim they were on holiday and had no one to receive the returned item (causing me to raise a missing item request with Australia Post); by sending me a message on PayPal dispute on Saturday, saying the X3 was amongst a whole bunch of stuff they received during their holiday break and thus, took a while to go through. And they will be sending me a replacement today.

Hi all,

Ordered mine from Tomtop and received it 2 days ago.

I noticed that
1) when i am charging it, used both 1A and 2A chargers, the player become extremely hot. easily 50 degrees. hot to the touch and i cannot hold it for long. i now only use the 1A slower charger as i am really worried about the heat generated.
2) when i am playing flac files, it feels uncomfortably warm.

Is it normal?

Hi

This is where mine came from which has the same issues as mentioned in a previous post.

I contacted them a few days back about it but have had no response.

Have you contacted them?

Very fair review - It is a fantastic player for the price. TomTop took a month to deliver mine to the UK but the silver version was out of stock. (I already had a black one). Like it so much I bought 2!

Interesting that you had a lock up with a particular sd card as it happened to me today for the first time. I tried to format a new Sandisk 64GB card within the x3 ( Win10). Crashed my PC, locked up my x3 and destroyed the card - no longer detected in Windows. I have 6 Sandisc cards (32 - 128GB) and never had a problem.

First time I have formatted a card using the x3 - all my other cards already contained music and are read by the x3 without issue.

Curious.  Anyone know if a SanDisk Ultra 200GB Micro SD card works in the xDuoo X3?

I have two of them in mine and it certainly does!

Having problems updating the firmaware and wondering if anyone can help...

I've downloaded v1.1 from the Xduoo website, put update.zip in the root of my sd card, clicked Update, Yes, I get "Succeed", then it reboots and gets stuck on "Updating...Don't power off!"

I have tried numerous times, leaving it for up to an hour but end up having to hit the Reset button and booting back in to 1.0. I thought my download might have been corupted somehow so have downloaded again but still have the same problem.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Stop Press!

Doh!

Cards were exFat not Fat32...Retried with Fat32, Wahey 1.1...Sweet!

Sorry folks!

Does the X3 have new competition in the face of the upcoming Hippo Mu?!

From what I can tell it is essentially a Xduoo X2, with possibly different innards. Although it takes just ONE sd card, it does however have two inbuilt storage holders for more sd cards! This is a first that I have seen on any DAP, essentially allowing the user to carry 3 microsd cards around with them on a DAP and choose which one the player uses to boot up with. It's a nice idea, but I wonder if it's born from failure (ie the intention was to allow 2x microsdcard loading but they couldn't manage it lol).
