Has anyone else noticed an improvement in sound quality with the latest version 6 firmware? The updates are too minor for me to want to update to v6.0 from v5.0. But if the sound quality has improved, then for sure I will update.
why not try yourself... You can always revert back to V5.

Whole process hardly takes 5 mins.

What software did you use to open the file? I have Winzip but it doesn't seem to recognize the 'RAR' file

Use either WinRaR or 7Zip.

Or you may simply use this small online unzip utility, no installation needed : https://unzip-online.com/

So my early-version X2 that got a really bad buzz in it, I sent it back to Penon (about 2 weeks), they sent it back to XDuoo, who fixed it and sent it back to them (about 1 week), then then shipped it back to me (3 weeks). So after about 6 weeks, I have it back, and all is well. Sounds great. Only had to pay shipping (about $15).

So although overseas stuff takes a while, their service was great.

Yesterday my X2 restarted a few times. I was playing some flac files. I've played those files several times before but the problem didn't exist.
Had this issue for little while and then the player is behaving normally again. Didn't have to press the reset button.

Hopefully this won't be a recurring issue.

I got my X2 yesterday. Before using it I updated the firmware to v6. So far I really like it, seems to have ample power compared to my Clip + and Clip Zip. I am playing mostly Flac files, different kinds of genres of music such as Rival Sons, Testament, etc. The X2 seems to give my Triple Fi 10's more breathing room and the bass response is great without being overpowering, and I only have the player on volume 1. I am using it right now with my Plantronic Backbeat Pro's at work in between putting out fires(I am computer support for my bank). I will have to see how the player works with my other headphones also. Hardware wise I find that the buttons are fairly responsive, but I am used to the HiSound Audio V 3rd anniversary so keep that in mind. I like the metal casing but found the SDXC card slot strange in that it was raised allowing for space underneath the slot. I have all my music in one folder, but hope at some point it will be able to do shuffle between artist folders instead.

If I decided to take the players back off and look at the inside, are there any wires connected to the back that I have to be mindful of? I wanted to look at the micro sd card slot.

any word on adding shuffle all folders playback in the firmware?
My replacement unit (for the one no longer booting) is coming soon

edit: asked Xduoo support, they said they'll try to implement it. Not sure about the ETA.

Everyone who wants this feature(and there are quite a few) should write to xDuoo support, like @svyr has done.
That should hopefully push it up in their priority list.

Good idea... I'd really love to have that feature. That way I can still maintain my folder hierarchy and still be able to shuffle all songs.

By the way any contact details of Xduoo support please?

good idea. personally for me the feature is a must if I was to even use the player instead of it sitting in my cupboard.
