New purchase and needed an OTL bad for my VO. So I bought T-66 and wow factor. I’d do the Crack but out of the box this sounds like the $900 over modded Crack I bought from a member. I’ll buy more Magia cables soon.
Gives the VO the sub bass needed for my tastes.
Hi man,
i don't consider it bright at all, i'd say neutral to warm dac/amp, consider i use it with cans only and works fine in BT conncection.
My XA02 sounded not more than 20H, maybe it needs more time but right now i like it with bright HP as Ananda nano and matches very well with Fostex TH616 i recently got, not bad at all with Audivina also, but slighlty warm with Rognir Dynamic for my taste
Hope it helps
Anyone by chance compare the newer models to the TA03 for higher impedance cans? I really felt it was something special on Sennheisers, that thing effortlessly swung over 10V at the output
btw just a question. did you experience single ended connection to be louder than balanced connection? im not sure why the 6.3mm jack is louder than the XLR connection with same volume level.
It's the same for my TA-22 too. Since volume control on TA-22 is most likely digital, I guess it's a specific design choice of the volume curve.
Balanced headphone out will probably get louder than single-ended from the 70th or 80th step or something.
Well, nothing serious; an extra watt gives you just a few dB on top anyway. Still good to know I can drive HE6se via balanced connection with plenty of headroom to spare (if I ever want to get that cheaply built cans).

hey y'all. so i was looking at the ta-20 plus amp and the ta-32 amp and i noticed the rectifier tube was different. going by the product description, 20 plus uses a 5z4p tube which looks a bit smaller than the 5u4g tube of the ta-32 amp. i'm not sure if these are swappable or if the sound quality is different between the two. i'm split between getting the 20 plus soon and using my mojo 2 with it as dac or waiting for the rumored ta-32 amp that will have a r2r dac later this year. the 5z4p tube difference to the 5u4g may also be a consideration but i don't know enough about them to say. hoping someone can fill me in in this topic, thanks!
I actually jumped on the TA-22 to get it before the TA-32 comes out. I'm not a fan of tube rectifiers. In my experience the bass is weaker with tube rectifiers and you have to spend a lot of money on HQ rectifier tubes to get close to what a regular one does.
