IMO changing tubes makes the bigger impact in terms of sound signature.

Little Pinkie PSU upgrade: better bass, less hiss (with low-ohm cans) and better dynamic. The difference is not night and day but still noticeable.

Not sure about the X-PSU from MF.

For me I use the K702, Grado (any of them), and the DT880 250Ohm.

And yeah tubes give you a much bigger difference in SQ. The PSU upgrade helps the bass fill in as well as make the sound sound more powerfull and dynamic. It also adds more weight to the sound.

@Frank I

Thanks! Through research at Head-Fi I read others mentioning Tube World and Audio Tubes. I must say TubeDepot looks a lot more ordered and clear. The pictures are a nice addition too.

Jim Mchane site kind of disorganized but he is the best I have purchased tubes from especially when you are requesting matched tubes. He is very knowlegble and more important very honest. great guy

So I'm the proud owner of a X-CAN V8P just 3 hours ago. My K701 has been collecting dust in a dark corner. It's different now, as it has great synergy with this amp now. I might post my findings after a more thorough listen.

However I have a quick question here. I have both my headphones K701 and ATH-A900 plugged into the headphone jacks. I noticed the ATH-A900 shows a noticeable "hiss" with the volume at zero. K701 however is just silent. Anyone know why my ATH-A900 does this?

I have used it with the T1's and it's worked rather well with them! In fact it drives them really well.

How the heck do you open this thing up to roll the tubes? The one I've got in has very tight hex screws and there's no obvious way to slide the board out of it without detaching a cable or two. Anyone have instructions/diagrams?

best,
