There's no advantage to using a line out cable.  Line out = headphone out at 100%
 
A line out dock, that charges and acts as a stand is worthwhile.

Nope, don't make them.  I actually don't even use the Fuze any more either (mine broke).
 
But, depending on the caps, there is a difference as the line out is not = to the headphone out at 100%.  There are different circuits on the chip which have different topographies and different signal paths.  ClieOS started a thread where he sent around a Fuze LOD for evaluation...

Depends. For Fuze v1, the current RB should support the LO function normally. With Fuze v2, you might need a custom build with the LO patch to get it to work.
