I'd like to know what you all think are the worst headphones made by brands normally associated with good quality gear. I'm not looking for "HD201s are awful because they can't match 650s" but for headphones that sound bad, even if their price is taken into account.

I'll start by saying the HD212s are a major Sennheiser dud as their treble is piercingly high and painful! £40

CX300. Not just one note bass, but one note mids and one note treble, and each of those notes is the same note. Absolutely awful in every single possible way. The ancient earbuds that came with my Panasonic tape player in the early 90s are better and they're made out of flint and sandstone and other ancient materials long abandoned by modern science.

HD202, I bought these on a whim, man what a bad choice. The pain from wearing these is off the charts. I have a normal sized head so thats not what the problem is, the design is bad. They clamp so hard, plus is audio is just muddy and the bass while there, is all over the place. I guess not bad for $20??? Most likely once I get a new set I'll give them away to a member here. Maybe they will work better for someone else?

Direct Sound "Extreme Isolation EX-29".

Coby earcups & drivers hot-glued to the insides of $10 ear protectors for $80. What.

I like the Triport AE. Too fragile. But its nowhere near as bad sounding as the head-fi massive proclaims. I have no heard the OE or IE.

I agree, the AE is pretty good, if not a little overpriced.
