I am again very happy with the Little Dot Mk6 great synergy with the K1000 when tubed correctly. But was curious to obtain a WA22 for the LO/HI impedance capability and so many output selections.
 
It just seem like a amp that can drive so many different phones and being transformer output there would be no voltage swing on low impedance phones.
 
Little Dot MK6 being a OTL/OCL design allows high impedance phones to shine. Oh well there is always some trade off involved.

My maxed WA6 sounded very similar to the WA22 prototype in terms of timbre and tone, transparency and detail.  But the WA6 soundstage was more forward and narrower and smaller in general, and it had much less power.

I'll be getting a new WA22 soon.

I'm hoping for some feedback on GEC U52 rectifier tube.
I'm considering pairing the U52 with a pair of RCA 6AS7 coke bottle NOS tubes. I've many 6SN7 tubes from my CARY SLP-98.

Will the GEC U52 and RCA 6AS7 be a harmonious pairing?

I've not tried the RCA 6AS7, so I can't comment on what it'll sound like. But be prepared for the amp to heat up a lot. I notice that with 6080 and 6AS7 tubes, the WA22 heats up a lot, not so much with the 5998 and 7236 tubes. However I've run the amp hot for more than 8 hours before with no apparent ill effect, so don't worry too much and give it a try when your amp arrives.

Does anyone know how many amps of current the WA22 draws?
 
It appears I might have an erratic ground loop hum, and wanted to try using the EBTECH Hum X.
 
The product's usage notes state: "The Hum X should not be used on equipment that exceeds 6 amps of current draw."

I got a response from Simon at Woo Audio. The max draw is less than 2 amps.
