As much as I'm granting the "Amis" to win I think it's only fair for an African team to make it into the next round. Will be an exciting game tonight.

Go USA! This is finally getting Americans interested in soccer (association football).

I am completely neutral here. Best team win Nigeria, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Cameroon, Algeria did go due to underperforming.

As much as I hate that Ghana dashed my hopes for USA football (again), I have to admit it was really a great game and Ghana deserved the win. Congrats to Ghana!

Looking forward to seeing England and Germany go at it.

I think you do not understand much about football: USA may have no superstars, but it plays remarkably well as a team. Definitely quarter-finals material, and may very well go past that!

Yeah, USA is not that bad after all. Ghana has 20 mio + inhabitants, nomatter it is one of the poorest countries ...

One great thing about football is that it´s so cheap to participate in. It´s not like hockey where clubs and everything completely ruins you! It´s no shame loosing to Ghana they are technically superior player for player after all.

A really bad thing is blind referees... I suspect they will compensate England with a cheap penalty in the second half... Rooney and the guys better develope spaghetti legs

It's karma for '66. :)
But it should've been a goal. I fear Germany will be too lax when England starts strong in the second half. This no goal will be talked about for a long time.

Jobsworth referee. Not sure what's the point of them if they can't even spot a goal lol!

Especially when one of them was about 20 yards from the goal.
