I want something with massive bass and not much of a loss in the mids and highs. So, I'm on the lookout of either the Fostex-TH900 or LCD-3. In the meantime, I've gotten some of that bass fix with a pair of sheepskin Brainwavz earpads on my T1.

Gotta say...I'm done:
- Spicy treble/acoustic: Grado GH-1
- Detail, sub-bass, spatial-'wow': Eikon
- Syrup-y warmth, coherence, comfort: Aeon Flow Open
- Mobile + punch: Meze 99 Classics
Over and out.

I'm deciding between the LCD-x or hd800s. I prefer the sound of the Audeze but it's so damn heavy and bulky.

If I could allocate the money I keep thinking about the LCD 4.

I dismissed the Ether 2 when it first came out because I disliked the tonal balance of MrSpeaker's AFOs, but since then I've 1) embraced EQ and 2) grown appreciative of physically light headphones.
Sony Z7M2

Seriously considering the Focal Stellia. I’ll probably sell off some gear to get them.

If I could afford it then probably the Abyss Diana. $3,000 is a absolute absurdity for any portable headphone. Yeah .. I think that they are full of themselves. They even charge $400 for new pads..

I'm circling around the Sony 7M2.
With several "upper-mid-fi" cans, like the Audio Technica R70 -
which I like very much -
and having been through many of the Senn's and AKG's (even the
Austrian made models), the original Z7's, various Beyers including
the Amiron's and 1990's- the only headphones I have which still
give me a "rush" are my Grado PS500e's and R1's. And various
electronics to power all of these.
Anyway, I've like Sony products for a long time. And not only
audio. It seems apparent to me that they are a truly great outfit;
nothing is beyond their imagination or capacity. And their build
quality is beyond reproach.
So I'll be looking to pick up a set of the Z7M2's within a month
or so. There's no emergency as far as I'm concerned. Plenty
of good headphones here for listening in the meantime.
The only vague concern about the Sony's, as they are
closed back, will be the size and depth of the soundstage
and imaging prowess overall. Reviews seem to vary
on this aspect, and only by listening personally will I know
for sure.
Very much looking forward to liking and keeping them!

Thinking about something bassy.
CA Cascades, TH900, TH610, D7200's, etc.
If MassDrop keeps doing the Elex, I will buy those in Fall/Winter, definitely before the end of the year.

20 years back I wanted those. 5 years I bought them and they are still to date the best and fastest headphones I had the pleasure of hearing. Sold them last year cause I was afraid of using them, afraid of breaking them ...Sennheiser HE60. As soon as a decent one pops up for sale I'm on it. Providing I can still happily pay for one. Probably should get an electrostat amp too.
Maybe a Stax amp and earspeaker combo... old lambda perhaps?
Feeling that electrostat urge...
I miss them since the day I sold them though. The HE60/HE90 are something special, maybe to special (at least for me they were).

Tonal balances between the Ether 2 and AFO is completely different. This is an opinion from the person who doesn't care about amp/dac much.

Wow Z1R is so well received?
Yes. It's the most clear sounding closed-back I've ever heard.
