I'd like to buy an extension cable to use with a straight jack IEM like the DBA-02. I've had way too many right angle jack IEMs that broke on me due to jack failure. With a straight jack, I can just always plug it in an extension cable and just replace the extension cable every year or so.

Extension cables are quite difficult to buy, especially short enough ones (< 1 meter). The best extension cable (by far) I've seen so far is the one that comes with the Sennheiser CX400. It is a good length, right angled, and a very nice strain relief on the jack. I've considered buying a CX400 just for the extension cable. I'd prefer if I don't have to do that, after all $17 would be a very expensive extension cable.

Anybody know where I can get a cheap, decent quality extension cable? It must be right angled.

Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure how good these are but look here?

I'm no expert on right angle extension cords so I'm not too sure. I know the one that came with UE TF10 didn't last very long.

How about the one you get with the Q-JAYS?
They had them for like $5-10... actually it might not have been US dollars but GBP, I'm not sure.

Oh great, their site doesn't seem to work any more... I don't know why, could be a temporary thing, but try this site:

It's the same cable you get with the Q-Jays and possible some other IEMs too. It is 90cm(35 inches?) long, and has a nice, small, angled plug. They're available in two colors, black and white.

Hey!

This is EXACTLY the same problem that I have. Is so difficult to get short cables, M-F or M-M, getting these cables is complicated.

Here in Mexico I found some cables in the RadioShack stores, I don't know if you have some of these stores available near you, but I got a 30CM cable M-M (straight jack) by aprox $6 USD, a little bit expensive, but it seems very thick, I hope it will last some months :p

Also, there was a 90cm M-M cable available :D

Probably you can get one of these and a F-F adapter to plug your earphones. In my case, this is useful as is, because I need it to plug my Fiio amplifier.
And by the way, there is this little 10 cm cable xD  http://tinyurl.com/642fay8

Before I found this cable (a week ago! I am so happy :D ) I was buying this headphones

The doesn't sound too bad and you get a pretty 60cm extension :D I hope this help you in this long quest....

Damn, WE NEED someone to do these cables!!!! sigh

(Sorry for my English, tell me if something isn't clear)
