I would want these phones recabled mainly because I want all of my headphones to have 1/4" plugs, any sound benefits would be great but nothing would be expected. Do you think if I went to headphile they might be able to do something?

Larry at Headphile is the man for your headphone recabling needs.

digging up an old thread and asking the same question.

I am happy with stock K501 - however, I have a pair that needs new cable. Seems like current options are;
APureSound
http://apuresound.com/v3.html
Synsonix
http://www.zynsonix.com/Recables.htm
Enigma Audio
http://www.enigma-audio.com/Headphone%20Cables.html

From the great reviews posted by fellow head-fiers, I am feeling like either APureSound and Enigma Audio is the way to go. Is either of these microphonic or hard to handle (stiff etc.) ? I would love to hear the improvements that were mentioned in the reviews, however not being microphonic is the priority for me.

Thanks for any help.

tagosaku, have you looked through the cable forum? You'll likely find more comparisons and reviews on the cables you are considering there. If you can't find enough information, making a thread there might be beneficial as well.

Thanks for you reply and yes I did. And can't even confirm if any of these are microphonic or not :)
Guess I will just go ahead and pick one as it is for my spare which I got used and the cable is noisy.

Why not just call Enigma or Apuresound, or send them an email with your questons?  I have two of Enigma's cables, one of which is for headphones.  Great construction and microphonics is minimal.  Probably the same story no matter which cable you choose.

thanks, waiting for reply from Apuresound. Enigma looked great but Apuresound had a more attractive price
