raymond, laputa is my favorite too, well maybe with totoro. i agree re: the music in his films, it is wonderful. when the heck is the dvd coming out!?! laputa has some of the greatest action scenes i've ever seen. plus it is an achingly beautiful film. i only have the japanese widescreen laserdisc version of it, no subtitles, but it is still one of my faves. i can't wait to see his new one, spirited away.

can you guess why they couldn't release laputa in italy with the title "laputa"?

My roommate started laughing for that very reason, while I was telling him the names of some of Miyazaki's movies...

I really want to see totoro again, I don't remember much about it now it was a long time ago. You have laputa on laserdisc? what about other miyazaki films?

People always say Disney are the best animate studio in the world, but IMO they are nothing compare to miyazaki's film. You can see how low key the launch of Princess mononoke was when compare to Mulan when it came out. They are scared that it might do really well and people (in the US) will know of the real artist in cell animation.

"This is one of my favorite parts of the tour. Say hello to our
residents, Pedro and Inez. Pedro is working on an "adobe." Can you say that with me? "

"Adobe."

"Inez is holding a clay pot, of which she seems to be very proud. She has decorated it with much paint and glaze."

raymond,

), kiki's delivery service, valley of the wind, lupin iii, mononoke, porco rosso, and i THINK that's it. the laserdiscs are insanely expensive, but i'm a big miyazaki fan.

Pee Wee: But what? Everyone I know has a big but. C'mon, Simone, let's talk about YOUR big but.

I am vary stunned that in 5 pages of post I didn't see Highlander .
Highlander is a great and innovative movie, it or parts of it have been ripped off by numerous shows and movies. I like many movies but I thought that I would mention couple that haven't been mentioned by enough of you

Highlander
Gattaca
Blade Runner
Alien/s
5th Element
The Lost Boys
