I'm using a PC as a source, looking to get the most out of it, not sure what the best route to take is. For right now, my only headphones are D2000s. Probably will be adding a Grado soon (MS2, most likely). I'm using the crappy onboard audio on my motherboard, and it's not cutting it. So, what i'm trying to figure out is how I can get the most out of my system without going over $200. Should I be looking at a DAC/AMP combo to cut out the onboard sound entirely? Or, should I get a better soundcard and spend whats left on an amp? Or just use the onboard, and spend my entire budget on a better amp?
I've been looking at a Audinst HUD-MX1, which fits my budget, and gives me a DAC and amp. This is currently the only option i've really looked into. If someone can suggest a better way to go about things, I'm all ears.
