It may seem peculiar, but if you want to hear how good a headphone can sound - Merle Haggard's Okie From Muskogee, orig. 1969 version, on the Beyer DT-48e.  Merle's band then was one of the tightest and most accurate bands since James Brown's backup band on I feel Good and Papa's Got a Brand New Bag.
