what is your portable rig/system?

For my portable rig.

I have a choice of 3 MD recorders.

Sony MZ-R900
Sony MZ-R30
Sharp MD-MT20

I personally think that the MZ-R30 sounds the best. Even though this is the oldest of my portables.

Don't have an external amplifier as yet. Am contemplating building the C-MOY over the xmas period. Will have to root around the parts box, see what gives.

Phones wise, I have the following

Stax SR-001 Portable Electrostats. Poorly at the moment, break in the ribbon I think? Will be sending them away to be repaired in the new year.
Koss 'The-Plug'.
and various earbuds from portables over the years. All of them pretty ropey.

Am contemplating getting a top of the line Sony PCDP shortly, will probably wait 'til New Year sales and see what is available. To be honest i'm more of a Minidscman. I just love the compactness and convenience of them

Seasons greetings and happy listening

I "liberated" my amp from under the tree this morning. I feel complete now. Thanks JMT!
