It will be a lot cheaper then 1400€. 1400$ is only a little over 1000€ plus the MSRP is not street price. The HD650 also has a MSRP of 600$ (=440€) while you can get them new for 200€.

Little update: It looks like Sennheiser is trying really hard to get the street price to 1400$.

If they are going to try to impose the street price I hope they will at least make a correct conversion of USD to EURO.
And not something like 1 usd = 1 euro like most manufacturers do.

The reports back from the show in the UK press are quoting £999.99 if you do a google search. I guess the Euro equivalent will be interesting given how the £ has fluctuated against the Euro! It could got all the way from parity to Euro 1,200. Time will tell ..............................

I think 1200 euros is much more believable number. The thing is those lucky USA chaps don't have to pay VAT there. VAT in EU varies from UK-s 15% to Sweden's 25%. I hope I'm wrong, but I guess we in Europe are screwed as always.

When IE-8's first came out they were $499.00 USD FIRM ! here in the states. but at Amazon.uk they were selling them for the UE equivalent of $269.00 USD. They were just not allowed to ship to US. I believe that the UK has a lower tariff on thier EU brothers' products and in addition, Senn knows that it CAN get more here than other places so they DO. Whatever price sennheiser agree on for the uk will be too high.
Asking about a grand for a pair of headphones is completely silly.
There is no way i would ever pay that.
