Either this is a troll or he is nuts the HP 1 is worth a couple grand you'd be extremely foolish to trade them

I got a pair of old Grado Headphones at a yard sale a couple weeks ago for $25. Guy wanted $30 but I bargained them down.
They seem to be a discontinued model.
I think the model number is HP-1. They're mostly all shiny metal, stainless steel or aluminum or something.
They sound pretty good, actually.
The foam things on the earpieces were all crumbling and when I took them to a dealer to try to get them fixed he said he had a pair of headphones like that when he was in college. He said he'd stay up late listening to Pearl Jam on them.
He said he'd trade me straight up for one of the new Grados, an SR-80 I think.
I can't get back there until tomorrow, but I want to do the deal before he changes his mind.

Are they these? http://www.head-fi.org/t/576706/fs-joe-grado-hp-1-hp-1000
If so, there would a couple thousand..

Oh, no! I wish you'd told me before I traded them! Do you think he'll trade back?

But seriously, I would call this a troll so much as, well, a little bit of tongue-in-cheek humor in the spirit of other posts I've read on the site.
Most of the other posters figured out that I was just having a little fun.

I may very well be nuts however.

Best deal I got? $250 for a Stax SR-Lambda (albeit with rebuilt drivers) and an SRD-7/SB, here on this very forum. I find myself coming back to them time and time again.

Best deal someone else got? Shortly before the Lambda score, someone on eBay nabbed a Koss ESP/950 setup with E/90 for about $350 shipped. I would have jumped on it myself, except I didn't have quite that much disposable income at the time. These days, you'd be lucky to see 'em for under $500...
