Just interested in which DVD-Audio and SACDs you have bought lately?

How did they sound?

I have been enjoying Songs for Beginners by Graham Nash on DVD-Audio.

I recently bought a new CD/SACD player so I picked up a few new (for me) SACDs:

Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street
Blood, Sweat & Tears - self-titled
Blood, Sweat & Tears - Blood, Sweat & Tears 3
Donovan - Donovan: Storyteller
Earth, Wind & Fire - That's The Way of the World
Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn
Linda Ronstadt - Prisoner In Disguise (not an SACD but a MoFi Gold CD and an excellent disc)

I routinely buy heavy-weight, half speed mastered and 45 RPM vinyl for my TT rig.

Also check out the Ronstadt Heart Like A Wheel on Audio Fidelity. Stellar sound.

the sound on the Flaming Lips discs (Yoshimi, and At War With the Mystics) is a bit raw compared to the other DVD-As but they are both mixed very aggressively. There's a production video showing Wayne Coyne jumping around the studio from speaker to speaker

I have the nine inch nails "Ghosts I - IV" boxed set with the Blu-Ray Disc and the "Multi-Track DVD." Which one would be useable as a surround sound music CD in my car? Is Multi-Track DVD equivalent to DVD-A? I'm not familiar with that term. I have a Blu-Ray home system, but I don't think a Blu-Ray will lay in the car...help!

probably the multi-track DVD ... i guess; but no DVD-A means you'll either get hi-rez stereo or a DD 5.1 mix.

edit: no I just read the DVD contains multi-track masters in WAV format ...

someone could mix them in 5.1 if they wanted, but it doens;t look like there's a native 5.1 mix anywhere

edit 2: looks like someone did and made it into a 5.1 DTS CD
