I'm looking for some cans that are rocking my head, shaking my brains on the inside. Not looking for crappy SkullCrusher quality fake bass. Any suggestions? I have D1100's and would like more space shaking bass.

im looking in to some DJing in the future and would want phones that are going to rock like my subwoofers will be to a lot of low bass beats.

XB500 is the best at delivering brain-massage, bass that you can hear & feel, they push air like a smaller speaker. Ofc you might still need some EQing or bass boost with amps or whatever to really get to such levels for any headphone IMO but yea XB500 is closest to that from start. Between DT770 Pro/80 and XB500 there's no contest.

The problem with D1100 is that you're missing the deep bass output, the bass decays too quickly and doesn't deliver any strong deep rumbling bass but it should have a quite decent kick from drums or basstones that aren't very deep though.

Haven't heard the XB500s but the XB700s are all I use for my drum and bass CDs...it literally rattles my earlobes inside the cups.

EDIT: Also, if amped properly the bass on the xb700 is very well controlled and the sub bass goes very very deep while still keeping nice detail on the mids. It's definitely my go to headphone for fun bass I can feel.

Heya,

Sony XB500 + Digizoid ZO.

I've had the DT770 and the XB500. The XB500 by far is more seismic with bass.

Very best,

If you're looking for headphones that have the deepest bass go with the Darth Beyers. If you're looking for more of a rumbling type bass, go with the XB700s. If you want headphones that can do both pretty well, go with the Ultrasone Pro 900s.
