What book are you reading right now?

Damn, that looks heavy, Doug.

I like to find authors who write series so the books have some connectivity. The current author is Brad Taylor ... his character, Pike Logan, is a bad ass. Mr. Taylor was, as well, and he had no trouble writing the action scenes. Where he struggled a bit was the other aspects like conversation and you know. Now on his 4th book in the series and the writing overall has improved dramatically. Probably why his books went to bestseller status on the NYT.

Needed a copy of The Silmarillion, haven't read it for a few decades. Struggling through the first chapters, a couple of things bothering me, like was Melkor so at odds with the others, though without him it would be a boring story and Eru is said to have not revealed his full purpose. Though I don't often read fantasy much now, looking forward to Beren and Luthien which blew me away first time I read it.

Ken Follett’s Never. It’s a good read as Ken’s novels are.

I read that not long ago, love Mr. Follett's writing. I found Never to be eerily realistic :)

Finished the 22 Brad Taylor thrillers, now on to Clive Cussler, the founder of NUMA.

Author Jack Higgins who wrote “The Eagle has Landed” died at age 92, on April 9th, 2022.
I'm looking for new authors and Mr. Higgins appeared on the radar, in particular his Sean Dillon series. Are you familiar with those books, Bob?

Hi Dick, good to hear from you. Unfortunately I’m not, no. The reason I posted his passing was to inform any of his possible readers who may not have known.
