An excellent album. I haven't heard all her albums yet, but my favorite is still her debut "Another Mind", although that might be just because it was the first album I heard from her.
I love that recording, he is the greatest Schubert interpreter that I've heard.
This below is an extraordinary rendition of the D894 in G sonata. It's about ten times slower than any other version, but so intense and beautiful. It was his favorite apparently.
Somehow Richter seemed to have the right melancholic character for Schubert's music, his D984 is very slow indeed and has a kind of hypnotical effect on the listeners. It is so different from the way other pianists play it and yet it sounds so right..
Even Glenn Gould liked it when he heard Sviatoslav live in Russia.. (he was not a Schubert fan)
