I've just started listening to my new-ish CD of Modeste Moussorgsky's Boris Godounov.

This version is with the National Symphony Orchestra (US) conducted by Mstislav Rostropovitch and features Ruggero Raimondi amongst others.

I think this is my favourite opera, although "favourite opera" is a very difficult thing to pin down.

I know this opera quite well, I'm a huge Moussorgsky fan actually :)

I've just started listening to the first scene, in fact from iTunes on my Mac.

Quite looking forward to the rest!

Now, that's goth!

King Crimson's "Moonchild" from the album "In The Court Of Crimson King" just because I had the feeling I had to listen to it again. It is a track of remarkable beauty. There are a lot of sides to the music of King Crimson, even after repeated listens the music surprises you.

Set up: CD690 + SA-530 + K240 DF

Update:
David Bowie's "Warszawa" from the album "Low" is now playing while listing with the new Pioneer (Monitor 10R) on the same set up the DF was connected to. "Subterraneans" just started. Consider me in awe occasionally closing my eyes taking up the sound which can only be described as heavenly... There is something about this album "Low"... I will finish with some Bach.
