What Are You Listening To Right Now?

If you do, I recommend a subscription to Qobuz. It's easy to explore new music, and to buy it, if you so desire. I think my basic subscription costs $10.83/month. The quality even of their 16/44.1 music is very good.

For today - I've not ever listened to this music, but discovered that Todd
went from Paul McCartney-like to half crazy during these three years.
Decided to hear it for myself. Qobuz at 24/192 resolution.

I have a subscription to Amazon HD. But I find myself tending to go back and listen to the music of my youth. Especially the albums that I missed because I couldn't afford them. There is quite the education here if one wants to take advantage of it.

I look at all of the music presented here and think that maybe I should move out of my comfort zone (classic rock) and try some of these. Maybe soon.
I hear you and I love sampling all the great music posted here. Great exposure to genres I don't usually look at enough. And I'm definitely going outside of my comfort zone soon. I just found a bunch of my brother's 1990s era hip-hop/rap CDs. I'm going to give it a shot. Shake up my perspective for a little bit. Brings back memories of summer camp and "learning" new words that probably shouldn't have been added to my vocabulary at that age 😬🤷‍♂️

My comfort zone was the Grateful Dead. These days, I still enjoy their music but about 95% of my listening time is devoted to Jazz, Americana, Blues, Bluegrass, some Ambient. Up until the last couple years 95% of my listening was the Dead. I missed a lot for 4 or 5 decades, but am catching up now! :beerchug:

I favor the old stuff but sometimes the newer stuff works its way in. Time for some Church music.

The best thing about Qobuz, for me, was to discover all the remastered old jazz recordings. Pick an artist and work thru their discography - that is a blast, to hear how they change over time. There are way too many of those recordings to own 'em all. YMMV as always. :)

ps. Charles Mingus is a fascinating place to start. Or Miles Davis. Or John Coltrane. Or Chick Corea. Just with those four, a world of jazz opens up!

Time to WAKE THIS THREAD UP!! Just LEAN INTO IT!!

Mr Big - Lean Into It [CD]

Sundara via Qudelix 5K making it happen. That's Billy Sheehan (the Eddie Van Halen of BASS) holding it down. My favorite track is #9 A Little Too Loose. What a way to wake up. WOWZA!! Go grab some coffee.......
I used to see Eric Martin at these little clubs around San Francisco when he was with Kid Courage...

I don't know about half-crazy except in a good way; many people (including me) consider these to be his best albums... Double-LP 'Todd' was another gooder.... But then, I was around when they came out.... :beerchug:

I wasn't into the Talking Heads. I felt that they were a bit odd. But over time I've gained an appreciation for their music. I love watching Stop Making Sense and American Utopia. David Byrne and his music is right there.
