Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um.png
That is Mr. Mingus in the background ... a hootin' and a hollerin' - it was his style.

A wonderfully complex song. The musicians must have a blast with this one.

This song is just fun.

It's educational, too. Had no idea there was a real person named "Faubus."
It seems he was a jerk, so Mr. Mingus wrote a song about him. HA!

The wacky world of the genius of Charles Mingus. From 1959 to 1962.
Finally cool enough to listen with my Audez'e LCD-4 ~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)

Edit: If you never listened to Charles Mingus, @koover, I suggest that you
start with the top album here: "Mingus Ah Um." It's a ton of fun, my friend!

Deleted post. Not conducive to this thread and members.
I read it on my email. It's not a competition ... I like all music and listen to what you post, too. I never had any jazz growing up, so now that it's easy to find with Qobuz, it's like a new world for me. The diversity of people here is what makes it so much fun.

You know, I know. Your response is appreciated. And if you guys are like me, you read what I posted as you watch the thread for posts. It’s music! Seriously guys, to me, likes is not a competition at all. It’s a “gauge” for me when posting. If i continually post heavy modern jazz and no one responds, even though they probably listened, maybe this time only though. Now I know you guys didn’t like it so now I can turn you on to something else thats not in your wheelhouse. Wash, rinse, repeat. This will sound funny, but I post this stuff for you guys, never me. But you gotta point. I dont like everything, I only do when I like it. Maybe I was being too much of a snowflake this morning. Lol. This is great group of people. Anyone who shares my passion for music like you all do, what could possibly be better? Stop it!i

Evan Call - Beyond These Waves

Evan Call's Beyond These Waves represents one of the few tracks with new melodies. With 51 songs, Echo Through Eternity constitutes the backing track for the second Violet Evergarden movie. The majority of the tracks utilize the same tune derived from the initial album, this time with a more grand or orchestral sound. One reason this piece is distinguished from its peers is because of its piano melody. As I recall, only one piece utilized a main piano melody from the original album: Adamantine Dreams. The piano's pitch is also higher in this piece. Displaying curiousity or intrigue—not dissimilar to The Voice in My Heart—the ocean asks what lies beyond these waves, a pivitol question pertaining to the content of the movie.

I just retuned my KSE-1200 with EQ and had an amazing night session with it.

It sounds much more alive now :)
Better percussions, cymbals, voices. Feels like less warm bass, but with more precision (even though I did not change anything below ~ 2khz)
Really fantastic sounding now, modern flagship status is achieved.
