1963 henry mancini the pink panther.jpg

The Pink Panther . Henry Mancini

The listen did two things for me. Place me in a relaxed street café somewhere in Paris or on the French Riviera. A coffee in front of me and a cigarette in hand. Secondly transport me back to childhood. All those memories. The Pink Panther rocks!

Two Rhapsodies, Op.79
Piano Pieces . Klavierstücke, Opp.117-119
Brahms . Radu Lupu

I am exploring Brahms at the moment and this is one of the seminal piano recordings. The ease, the weightlessness and imagination of Lupu’s play... A good recording to envelop myself in the world of Brahms. Radu Lupu deserves to be counted among the greats.

Kyuss . Welcome to Sky Valley

Your post sent me off on a tangent. The album is from 1994 and a classic of the genre. The cover is fitting: cruising in the dust-filled desert behind the wheel of a sixties muscle car. Listening to ‘Demon Cleaner’ I can’t help looking for the case of my air guitar.
