Alison Krauss _ Robert Plant - Raising Sand.jpg
Their first collaboration, from 2007. Produced by T Bone Burnett. All are cover
songs; the voices are pitch perfect and harmonious. Nicely done.

Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose.jpeg
From 2004, songs by Loretta and music/production by Jack White. Recorded
at Jack's studio "Third Man Records" in Nashville. Spectacular, in-your-face
music. Jack White puts everything he has into every project, which is what I
love about him. Jack's and Loretta's personalities are similar. They both got
spunk and guts.

Had some lagniappe time, so exploring some old Quincy Jones ... this is from
1957, the year of my birth, when he was still a jazz man. Brilliance awaited him,
of course.

That Jack White & Loretta Lynn...it just somehow works!

It's very interesting music ... I wish they'd done more. The songs and her voice are pure Loretta, but the music is pure Jack. He also tried to make it as close to "live in studio" as possible, to keep the recording sessions fun ... I think he's got a talent for that.

Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage.jpeg
This is a 2-hour rock opera in three movements, recorded in 1979. The premise
according to the liner notes is: "JOE’S GARAGE is a stupid story about how the
government is going to do away with music (a prime cause of unwanted mass
behavior)." Those are Frank's words. So y'all can imagine where it goes from
there - with the Central Scrutinizer enforcing laws that have not yet been passed.
One of my favorites - Vinnie Colaiuta is on the drums. Sarcasm is at 100% level.
The story starts out, where else, in Joe's Garage:

Had again some lagniappe time, so presenting "Bongo Fury," Frank's last album
with the Mothers of Invention, and guest artist Captain Beefheart.

Tidal introduced a new feature to share your playlists/profile publicly. I noticed that in the desktop app if you click on your profile picture on the upper left you can set this up. If you feel like sharing please do, I’m always on the hunt for new musical inspiration.
