This released a little under three months before high school graduation. Biggest album of the year...at least at my high school. We had a large percentage of metalheads. March 11, 1983.

Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Max Roach, Charles Mingus - The Quintet_ Jazz At ...jpg
Recorded in 1953 at Massey Hall in Toronto, the only time this group actually
played together. "Charlie Chan" is of course Charlie Parker :)

Chet Baker - Chet Baker - The Collection.jpg
No idea who picked the songs nor when they were recorded, but the sweet
tone of Mr. Baker's horn certainly dominates. The best songs are those on
which Chet also sings - very engaging.

The Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane - Live at Carnegie Hall.jpg
Recorded in 1957, the tape was stored untouched at the Library of Congress
until 2005, when it was discovered and released by Mr. Monk's son. Wow.
