I liked him when he was with Frank Zappa back in the day.
Me as well, a lot and even though I'm not particularly fond of his later more disco-esque recordings I absolutely adore his incredible talent and unique style.
Despite having a few George Duke albums, I could never really get into him. And I'm not a fan of his "A Brazilian Love Affair" album that came out in 1979. I honestly don't know why I have so many of his albums, but...

Bill Evans - California Here I Come.png
Song composed by Bill Evans ... he was age 38 when this album was made.

This album's tracks are hard to find. Maybe it was a bootleg. Edit: I got it -
this is one album of 18 released while Bill was under contract to Verve from
1962 to 1969. Hence the different artwork.

Simon Phillips - NDR Bigband.png
From 2011, this is the compositional work of Trilok Gurtu, a percussionist from
Mumbai, India. So ... eclectic rhythms/melodies played by the capable horns
of the NDR Bigband. Modern big-band jazz with two drummers. Buckle up!

The amazing power of the NDR Bigband.

Hard to argue when I have that many albums, though the first 6 shown are from a boxset I got. But really, for me, the proof is in listening.... and I rarely listen to any of those.
Maybe give the first tracks of Master Of The Game a chance to change your mind... 😃

Every so often I reach for a Flim and The BBs album, and realise how much I’ve missed them since their last recording in ‘92. Here is their 2nd album, astounding sound on my setup thru Verite Closed hps.
