What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Yes - UHQ-CD. And yes, per the company, they are 100 percent compatible with standard CD players. I say "per the company" as I've not had one yet as I'm awaiting my order; however, I do not doubt the claim otherwise I wouldn't have bought one. I don't know what the sound quality is till I hear one.So UHQCD is just a “higher” quality manufacture process for the CD? But it still plays in a standard CD player? I’ve never even heard of it
Anyway, I think this is a relatively new process, though I've seen UHQCD listings for a few years now. I just never bought one until now.

It really helped me to enjoy it more, once I realized what Mr. Coltrane was trying to say with the music. With that context, it became very moving and, in the end, he reached his goal.Strange idea to compare these two albums, at least in my book...
Personally, for me A Love Supreme is an umatched, sublime masterpiece GOAT album on a totally unique level of intensity...
Just my 5c of course.
I think part of the appeal might also come down to who's camp you favor - Miles or Coltrane.Strange idea to compare these two albums, at least in my book...

For me, I'm far more a Miles fan, than Coltrane fan. That's based on the amount of material of have of both - I only have Coltrane's A Love Supreme album (CD), but I have 33 Miles Davis albums (CDs). And yes, I know Coltrane played with Miles in some of his bands, including the forementioned Kind Of Blue.
Anyway, while I was pondering that question, the thought occurred to me that the better comparison to A Love Supreme would actually be Mile Davis's In A Silent Way as they are both spiritual, unique, and intense.
My two cents

A recent personal rediscovery. The first release of Flim & The BBs. Only 5 albums released over 10 years, but each one a jewel!

Hah, I was just thinking A Love Supreme is Coltrane's Kind of Blue. But yeah, same general idea.I think part of the appeal might also come down to who's camp you favor - Miles or Coltrane.

Actually, their second album, the first on DMP - Flim & BB's Discography.A recent personal rediscovery. The first release of Flim & The BBs. Only 5 albums released over 10 years, but each one a jewel!
Anyway, one of my favorite Flim & BB CDs. I'm always playing Cakewalk and Tell Me off that CD. Have all their DMP albums. In fact, I have all their CDs except the first - Flim & The BB's (1978) on Sound 80 label. And their last - This is a recording (1992) on Warner Brothers.
