Not posted here in a while. Got my newest IEM, delivered earlier tonight:
THIEAUDIO Prestige 4EST+4BA+1DD Flagship Hifi In-Ear Monitor Earphone
I am very very impressed so far, they have a very big almost holographic sound stage, bass and sub-bass are tremendous but not overdone. I am hearing things in some favorite tracks I've never heard before. Also noticing some tracks that can be sibilant or painful in the higher treble are now well tamed. Think these could be my end game iem. They sound more like a set of good Open Back over ears then i.e.m.. Still trying to figure out where they are hiding the subwoofer. Male and female vocals are both forward and have excellent timbre. These iems have fantastic note separation. Hearing more staccatto in some accoustic guitar riffs then I've heard before.
Going through my 14 hour new equipment demo playlist. will attach.
Roon Arc >> Ibasso DX-170 >> Thieaudio Prestige (balanced cable)
on the Jon and Vangelis track now. Gonna try to get to track 47 of 152 tonight. Full playlist attached in Excel format, as exported from Roon. Files are a mix of local Flac and Qobuz. Being a child of the 1960s there are some tracks on here I've been listening to for decades. There is also a lot of newer stuff, quit an eclectic mix.
