The Beatles - Anthology 1.png
Calypso music was popular at the same time rock and roll started. Adults were
trying to deflect the kids away from rock ... but, it didn't work. :)

Anthology 1 - recorded late '50s - 1964, released in 1995 along with the video
documentary. I am reading the history of The Beatles by Mark Lewisohn called
"Tune In," that covers the time from their births until 1962. This album has the
closest recordings to that time period. John and Paul first met in 1957, John's
band was The Quarrymen. Paul and George were in another skiffle band, as
was Richy Starkey. Many of these recordings really suck, but the history is fun.
Includes five tracks - their audition for the Decca Records label - and some live
stuff from Hamburg and Stockholm.

Edit: Had some lagniappe time, so on to the very interesting Japanese fusion
guitarist Kazumi Watanabe ... thanks to @Pietro Cozzi Tinin for the introduction.

This music is just yummy. Here's a song by John Lennon & Paul McCartney.

Darkest Days . Stabbing Westward

‘Darkest Days’ is one of the good industrial rock albums of the nineties. NIN sounds too destructive for me, so this is a welcome notch more neutral in intent. They mix catchy melodies and an edgy delivery. It’s just pleasurable to listen to them rock. The whole record comes along as a well polished monolith.

Robot Hive / Exodus . Clutch

Man, these guys rock hard. Enough said.
