What Are You Listening To Right Now?

A guy I used to work with in the record business back in the early 80's used to be Robert Cray's manager when he was first starting out....

Very cool.

I just started going through his whole discography from the beginning, I have never done this before with his music.

Robert is such a smooth player with fantastic tone and a great voice.

The Band is always in tune :)

Ok ... that must be a good album - everybody is listening to it! Thx for the tip!!

For today:
Marcus Miller - The Ozell Tapes.jpeg

Crusaders - Royal Jam.jpg

The MM is new for me, and after two tracks I'm already recommending it.
A compilation of songs taken from his band's 2002 tour, this came up as a
selection on Qobuz. If you like Marcus' music, you need to hear this album.
They do some Miles Davis, Trane, you know ... jazz. No mixing was done -
the music comes straight from the concerts' soundboard. The Crusaders'
live with the Royal Philharmonic and BB King & Josie James can't be beat.
Orchestral arrangements by Joe Sample. James Jamerson, Jr. on bass.

With all the buzz about this group in this thread, I just had to check them out:

Listened to this twice. Pretty good. Very different. I love all of the different sounds to try and figure out. Very creative.
