I'm still riding the Nick Drake wave. Thanks to @Les Strat for your comments. I really like this thread as a way to see what others are enjoying. I feel like understanding the backstory around artists, their songs, as well as why folks are listening to particular music provides great context and makes for a more rich experience. It doesn't appear that this type of dialog is not in alignment with the rules of the thread. Is there another area where this dialog is happening?

Great to hear that you are enjoying Nick Drake @OceanRanger
I am not aware of another thread for dialogue on music, but I am sure other members will put me straight if I am wrong about that!
I came across Nick Drake in '76 thanks to an old University friend, who knew John Martyn and through him met Nick Drake.
John was a friend of Nick Drake's and was concerned about him.
Even two years after his death, very few people had heard of Nick Drake in the UK, as his albums only sold in tiny numbers.
As you have probably discovered in your research, the bass player on 'Five Leaves Left' was the brilliant Danny Thompson, who also played with John Martyn.
On electric guitar was another brilliant musician- Richard Thompson. I have seen RT live many times.
I still enjoy listening to all of Nick's albums. Five Leaves Left is probably my favourite.
