Thanks for this @Roy G. Biv. I'll have a listen to Stuart Hamm.
Unfortunately I have never seen Satch live.
A friend of mine who is a guitarist, thinks he is one of the best he has ever seen.
I have about 12 of his albums, including 'Surfing with the Alien' and really like a lot of his stuff.
The first album I bought was 'Flying in a Blue Dream' after hearing the title track on the radio.

I saw Satriani when he was the lead guitarist for The Greg Kihn Band. Does that count? ")
