Is this as good as reviews say it is ?

Didn't read any reviews. I'm a HUGE fan of  this recording . Maybe the classical album I listened the most :) . I'd happy to have your opinion

The Essence Of Ahmad Jamal, Pt. 1
One of my favorite pianists under the Jazz flag. Solid album from start to finish released in 94.
Jamal has a singular way of expressing himself, very contrasting and not you're ordinary classic jazz pianist despite being a multi decade recording artist. If you dig the piano this guy is a must listen. All the musicians are in tune here, lovely stuff.
This is an excelent recording, audiophile grade.

Ahmad Jamal - piano
James Cammack / Jamil Nasser - bass
Idris Muhammad - drums
Manolo Badrena - percussion
George Coleman - tenor saxophone

I have this album too. Too bad it isn't available as High res. The studio masters of this album would be a real gem.

Not a huge fan of Einaudi, to be honest. A lot of his piano pieces sound a bit interchangeable, like aural wallpaper. Try Satie or Galos for meditative piano music with more originality.

New U2 album- Songs of Innocence.  It is FREE on iTunes.  Of course you only get 256 kbps lossy files.

So far it sounds like all other newish U2 albums- loudness war, excessive sibilance, etc.  Sigh...

Hey, someone's going to make the joke sooner or later - it's overpriced!

I'm going to start making my way down Muppetface's list here he's written up about. Check out his list here: (also on the front page) http://www.head-fi.org/t/733770/hfb-9-8-14-apollonian-squint-150-albums-to-hear

I find it extremely helpful when people write even the smallest bit about the album they're posting here. Like fantastic jazz album, mastering is great, etc etc.

Okay sure.

Leon Vynehall - Music for the Uninvited

For me, one of the best House LPs of 2014. Grainy, white-noisy, snares that sound busted, beats that don't slot neatly into place. Your high-end headamp's pitch-black background will mean diddly-squat with this. The artist says "I prefer dance music that isn’t quantized, regimented, and super mixed down to the nano-perfect spot. I’m a believer in the fact that music doesn’t have to sound professional to sound great. Mastering engineers hate me."

Happy now?  :p
