So, I saw Peter Frampton recently perform. We were looking for a multi generational family friendly show. He's in his 60's. I thought, Peter Frampton-he's getting a little long in the tooth. Don't think that. He Rocked!!!

It inspired me to check out his catalog. This is a great 3 disc set of 2012 performances. He went on a world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of his Multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive from the late 70's. Anyone who lived through the 70's will remember the concert recordings of "Do You Feel Like I do" and "Show Me the Way".

The songs are not from the same evening. He picked what he thought were the best performances from several evenings. 35 years of honing his skills are really obvious. The recording sounds great. It's the entire set list from the original FCA, plus a third CD of newer stuff. The third set for me is the real selling point. He does a lovely version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps and an instrumental of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun. He's got some newer stuff that is excellent.

I think he sounds great. He's terridic live and this recording catches a lot of what I liked in concert this summer. The SC is good IMO. If you like 70's blues based rock-I can give this a very enthusiastic recommend. I was too young for Woodstock and he wasn't there, but it gives me that vibe of what that time may have "sounded" like. No bad acid trips here. Just a fun, groovy, blues rock party.

Love it!  I have plenty to rip, any recommendations on a program?

DVD Audio Extractor. Easy to use and works great.

Be forewarned, it's           S               L                O               W

I'm 10 minutes into ripping "It Might Get Loud" and only 10% done. This is on a Windows 7 PC with i7-3770 and 16 GB RAM.
