Jim Carroll's "Catholic Boy" is one of my all-time favorite albums.It was released in 1980, and I heard it soon after that.
 
Like you, I enjoy returning to it. I've been listening to that album for over 30 years, and I still return to it.

IMO, The best Album ever recorded in the history of music.  Masterpiece gets used a lot but this is a TRUE masterpiece.
 
Highly Recommend finding the 3 disc set released in 2001 called: The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions
It includes the remix, the original LP version, and tons of recordings from the sessions...
