I got to see the original Montrose with Sammy quite a bit in San Francisco in the time when 'Montrose' and 'Paper Money' came out; they could have been so huge if it wasn't for the ego conflicts that split them up. Get on yer bad motorscooter and ride....I remember listening to this album constantly back in the day.
I really like all of his stuff before Van Halen as well as Van Halen, and Montrose was killer.

Joe broke up with his one-and-only girlfriend in 2015, so when this album
was recorded, the break-up was likely in progress. You can hear it here ...
Reese Wynans is on the keys:
So after the breakup, Joe is depressed and desperate. He still sometimes
expresses it in an up-tempo way, bless his heart.
On the way to recovery? Not so fast ... maybe one day he will find
redemption, but that would be in the next album
Joe sounds here like he might be on his way to recovery! You know that I'm
speculating, but the break-up was real.
Joe's studio albums from 2014, 2016 and 2018. Mostly original material. The
core band is the same on all: Michael Rhodes bass, Anton Fig drums, Reese
Wynans keys, Lee Thornburg horns. Produced by Caveman Shirley, mastered
by Bob Ludwig. Joe is in top form here ... and, it's finally cool enough for the
amazing LCD-4 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>
ps. Almost forgot ... best wishes to all our friends in Florida ... please be safe!

Didn't care much for his music back in the day. Why I'm rediscovering and enjoying it today is a mystery to me...
Maybe because it's many many many miles better than the pop music of today?
